Old paper / box factory exploration [27 Feb 2007|12:13am]

xsemperfidelis
A couple friends and I visited the old factory near Davis Square a couple weeks ago (props to being tipped off on the location by http://www.vanshnookenraggen.com/ )

I posted a photo-walk through in my journal:
http://xsemperfidelis.livejournal.com/313799.html#cutid1

We've gone back once since then and tried to go around to the other side, but found a bum sleeping under the freight train bridge next to us and turned back. At the back of the factory, there's a cool mini-roof with a hole in a fence that you can climb through if you're strong/skinny. Lots of barbed wire around that part though, so be careful.

Im from Worcester and would love to find some old abandoned buildings to take pictures. I was recently at an old abandoned farm(?) right next to westborough state hospital an recently checked out the now empty worcester common outlets. I have searched a lot of sites but found that a lot of the buildings they talk about have been ripped down. If anyone has any places i should visit please comment me bout them! i go back to college on the 28th an would love to take some more pics round here before im back in Dartmouth. Thanks

Hi everyone, I'm new here. I've remembered seeing so many staircases going to nowhere while taking the subway and I was just wondering if you guys had any suggestions for exploring the T or anything else in the Downtown Boston area.

Metropolitan State Hospital in Waltham [31 Jul 2006|06:30pm]

Has anyone been to the Metropolitan State Hospital in Waltham very recently? I know they are demolishing it, but I don't know if they have started or what is left. Basically, I want to see if it's worth trecking to. :-)

Hello [06 Mar 2006|10:22pm]
bl0odred_summer
Hi everyone, I just found this community, so if my question is misguided please just let me know. I'm a photo student who lives in Cambridge and I'm looking for some type of abandoned building/house (preferably a house actually) that I could shoot some photographs in. I haven't been in the area for too long so I don't exactly know where to start. I found the list of buildings that the city published and also the maps to those buildings, but it seems to be a bit of a stretch to check every one out until I get lucky. So I was hoping somebody here may have some advice as to some places to start or look at. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I found an entrance to Foxboro state hospital the other day, its pretty fucking sweet. On the side of the industrial building, near the gravel pile, theres a door. Its boarded, but the board is only being propped up by a sign. From the industrial building you can take a tunnel into the main building.

Just watch out, security patrols around there pretty often, I think hourly or something. And theyre tough about finding people there, but its definately a cool visit.
